I’m Marcia Barrington, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist currently undertaking rigorous clinical training at the Association for Group and Individual Therapy (AGIP) located at 1 Fairbridge Road N19 3EW in North London.

Choosing to work with a trainee therapist can be a highly supportive and cost-effective way to begin your journey into therapy. I offer long-term therapy options, with the flexibility of attending one, two, or three sessions per week depending on your individual needs.
My approach is warm and non-directive, providing a trusting and respectful environment. In addition, I receive ongoing clinical supervision from esteemed senior psychoanalysts to ensure a high standard of care throughout your therapeutic process.
I provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, identity issues, trauma, and more.
If you’re seeking affordable therapy in North London, I warmly invite you to get in touch to arrange an initial consultation and begin a therapeutic relationship.
Why CAKE?
Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I spent more than twenty years developing luxury culinary experiences in London. I use the metaphor of cake—whether dropped, cracked, smashed, or simply good enough—to illustrate personal transformation. I believe adopting a playful and creative approach to therapy fosters an imaginative dialogue with our inner world, enabling us to enhance self-understanding and bring greater awareness to previously unrecognised aspects of our experiences into the present moment.
““It is in playing and only in playing that the individual child or adult is able to be creative and to use the whole personality, and it is only in being creative that the individual discovers the self.””
